TFS Express Lane, September 19: Tallahassee Mayor’s Debate, CFO Patronis Obama tweet, Nikki Fried bringing the heat and a “Dear Leader” Birthday for Florida GOPers

At the first Tallahassee Mayor’s debate of the 2022 general election, John Dailey was every bit the red-faced menace more and more of Tallahassee knows him to be.

Practically spitting as he heaved personal invective at his opponent, County Commissioner Kristin Dozier — who came in first place in August, shattering Dailey’s perceived inevitability — Dailey looked unhinged as he repeated debunked claims against Dozier.

Kudos to Politico Florida’s Gary Fineout for a well-moderated debate at Capital City Tiger Bay, and to Commissioner Dozier for standing in coolly and confidently as Mayor Dailey attempts to angrily attack his way to a second term.

@jimmypatronis

Florida’s CEO had an interesting tweet earlier today. It’s so vile & classless it does not merit further discussion, but be aware it existed.

Nikki Fried’s post-campaign tenor has been so aggressively effective in hitting Governor DeSantis right on message and time, many we speak to believe she probably would have been the ideal LG pick for Charlie Crist, after all…

The day before the Governor’s Martha’s Vineyard stunt, it was his birthday. A quick perusal for Florida GOP Twitter had a real “Dear Leader” vibe to it, as one GOPer after another raced to wish DeSantis a happy birthday on the birdie. The consequences of not falling in line with the Governor, who is sensitive and unable to accept any slight, however minor are plainly obvious, so GOP officeholders do their best to brown nose him as much as possible in public.

And we were told DeSantis was the tough, non-sensitive type?
