The Florida History Podcast launches later this month

We have a new addition to The Florida Squeeze. The Florida History Podcast presented by The Florida Squeeze will debut the week of Memorial Day.

Each week, Robert Buccellato, acclaimed author of multiple books about Florida History and Kartik Krishnaiyer will tackle a specific topic in Florida History.

Motivated by the successful genre of podcast about history, the hosts look forward to bringing stories, anecdotes and open discussion about Florida’s rich and often overlooked history to the airwaves.

“We look forward to providing exciting historical topics that encompass the Sunshine State’s diverse narrative. From the drainage of the Everglades and the creation of beachfront paradises. To hanging chads and Civil War Battles,” said Bucellato.

Buccellato’s works include Florida Governors Lasting Legacies , Finding Dan McCarty,  Jimmy Carter in Plains: (Images of Modern America) and Rum Runners and Moonshiners of Old Florida

“I’ve been inspired by the likes of Mike Duncan’s podcast on Roman history and the Byzantine history show by Robin Pierson as well as many other similar themed history pods. I would like to provide a similar platform to discuss the history of Florida, which is largely underappreciated due to the unique transient nature of our state,” said Krishnaiyer.

The Florida History Podcast presented by The Florida Squeeze will be debut Memorial Day week. The show will tackle a single interesting topic weekly from Florida’s rich history. The topics will be presented in a non-chronological historical order and will be available for free on most podcast listening platforms.

We look forward to bringing this new addition to you every week.
