Republican voters have had their say. They rejected Marco Rubio’s candidacy which was built largely on his accusations that President Obama “lacked class,” had committed sedition by “deliberately weakening America”. But for now he remains our Junior Senator here in Florida and in that capacity he has continues to make incendiary comments about the sitting President.

Four years from now, thousands of American families can celebrate their daughters and sons being alive thanks to the rejection of Rubio and his neoconservative, warmongering policies  by GOP voters which almost certainly would have seen the United States in another Iraq-like quagmire. But here in Florida we still have to put up with the statements and absenteeism of our Junior Senator for 10 more months.

Rubio called Obama’s historic trip to Cuba

“one of the most disgraceful trips ever taken by a U.S. president anywhere in the world.”

And per CBS News Rubio continued his theme from the Presidential campaign attacking the President’s foreign policy:

Rubio labeled the talks between the countries’ leaders as “one-sided concessions,” accusing Obama of being “naïve” in his world view and foreign policy.

It takes a while for old dogs to learn new tricks and despite being rejected roundly by the electorate in his own party in his own state, Rubio cannot help himself.
