Nan Rich turns Crist-Bush Faux pas into fundraising opportunity

Smart move by Nan Rich to use former Governor Buddy MacKay who lost the 1998 Gubernatorial race to Jeb Bush in this fundraising appeal. The Bush years were largely an ideological crusade to undo the positive work MacKay and his political partner Lawton Chiles had done for Florida’s families, schools and our environment. MacKay is the most authentic spokesperson one can get to challenge the Bush legacy in Florida.

Dear Kartik,

Did you hear or read what Charlie Crist recently said about Jeb Bush?  It’s hard to believe – but, sadly, it’s true.

When a radio host asked Charlie Crist if Jeb Bush would be a good president Crist said “Yeah, I think he probably would. He made a great governor…”

I can’t understand how Crist, or any real Democrat, could think that Bush’s policies — policies that hurt our public schools, the environment, and especially the middle class – made him a “great” governor.
Frankly, it was frustrating for me to watch Jeb Bush undo so much of the good that Lawton Chiles and I worked to achieve as the last Democratic Governors of Florida.

I want a real Democrat in Tallahassee because I believe that staying true to Democratic principles is the right path for Florida. That is why I’m standing with Nan Rich, and I hope you will too.

Please click here to join me and Stand with Nan.
Thank you,
Buddy MacKay

  1. After the 10 million dollars worth of free publicity Charlie has gotten from his TV appearances promoting his book, Nan needs all the help she can get. When Nan wins the primary it will rank as the biggest upset of an attempt to buy an election of all time. That is until she beats Scott and his 100 million dollar attempt to buy the governors position again.
