Months ago, I reported that Avelo Airlines would be splitting its Orlando base with operations at Lakeland’s Linder Airport. Well actually that has not happened (yet) but at least Avelo now has announced service to Lakeland with twice weekly flights to New Haven, CT starting June 13. Even though it’s just two flights a week, much like Breeze’s entry in Vero Beach, it’s a restoration of service to a Florida airport from a scheduled carrier.

Meanwhile, Avelo will restore nonstop flights from Orlando to Wassau, Wisconsin on June 5. A unique route that helps connect smaller towns to the tourist mecca’s of Central Florida.
