It appears, as experts in Florida said decades ago, that we need disaster insurance supported by the federal and state governments. Fires, floods, tornadoes and hurricanes have increased in number and severity. It is not reasonable to expect a capitalist model like the insurance industry to respond to such conditions in ways most people can afford. We need government action.
