We talk to former GOP Congressman Bob Inglis about Climate Change

Former South Carolina Congressman Bob Inglis tried to tackle the climate issue in Congress during the 2000’s and now is leading an organization looking to facilitate free market solutions to the intensifying climate crisis. His ideas have special resonance here in Florida, where the climate situation is deteriorating rapidly.

Congressman Inglis is the Executive Director of RepublicEN, which is billed as the home of the “Eco Right.” As I have advocated for years, comprehensive climate change policy has to have buy in from both the private sector AND elements of the political right – enough to make comprehensive change while convincing individual citizens of all political ideologies of the imminent need for such change.

On this week’s Florida History Podcast, we diverted from historical topics to discuss with Congressman Inglis, policy ideas that hopefully can lead to climate solutions. Ideas related to Carbon taxes, trade policy and climate science are among the topics we discussed in this episode.
