Ultra-low cost carrier Avelo Airlines has had lots of success thus far with its Orlando base as well as other Florida ops from Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Sarasota/Bradenton. The carrier has linked major Florida cities with under-served markets along the east coast and in the midwest (with the exception of the highly competitive Florida-Raleigh/Durham market which Avelo had jumped into head-first).

Now the airline is beginning service to both Daytona Beach and Melbourne this summer. Daytona Beach will be served from New Haven, while Melbourne gets service to both New Haven and Raleigh/Durham.
