Subtropical Storm Nicole: Forecast track shifts north, west coast put under Tropical Storm Watch

At 4 am EST a Tropical Storm Watch was issued for the Gulf Coast of Florida from Bonita Beach (effectively the Collier-Lee line) noth to the mouth of Ocklohochnee River, bringing watches into Southwest Florida, the Tampa Bay are, and the Big Bend area. Additionally a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Miami-Dade County.

A Hurricane Watch remains in effect from Hallandale Beach in Broward County to the Volusia/Brevard Line and a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from Hallandale Beach to south Georgia on the Atlantic Coast. Lake Okeechobee is included in these watches and warnings.

The forecast track from the NHC has moved further north this morning, indicating a landfall on the Treasure Coast instead of in Broward or Palm Beach counties, but the intensity forecast which remains for Nicole to be a Category 1 as it approaches the coast is uncertain. Nicole remains a poorly defined subtropical storm at this moment.
