DeSantis faux-populism depends largely on Biden’s generosity

Governor DeSantis has marketed himself as a conservative, yet a progressive-populist, taking on big business, liberal elites and identity politics all while consolidating power squarely in his own hands. However, DeSantis image (which is contradictory, he can’t be a conservative and populist at the same time) depends on the generosity of the Federal Government, President Biden and Democrats in Congress.

The Governor has been holding self-serving ceremonies and claiming credit for funding that comes from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These funds, which were passed without any GOP support have been used for everything from providing bonuses for teachers to expanding broadband internet in rural areas and supporting Florida’s small businesses.

The Orlando Sentinel tells the rest of the story.

Everyone, except the MAGA people, know that all of the funds being used to help improve peoples’ lives are coming from the feds. DeathSantis is a disgrace, enabled by a spineless legislature.
