The combination of sanctions against Russia and increased oil prices both stemming from the Russian invasion of Ukraine is causing ripples throughout the aviation world. Florida is being impacted as expected.

First off, Aeroflot obviously will no longer serve Miami. The last Miami-Moscow nonstop was flown last weekend.

Frontier will not fly Orlando-Fort Myers/Milwaukee/Minneapolis-St Paul/Pittsburgh/Sioux Falls this fall.

Frontier will not fly Miami and Tampa to New York-LaGuardia this fall.

American Airlines is trimming service even more this summer. No routes are being cut outright from Florida but frequencies are being reduced on several routes.

United will not fly Key West-Washington-Dulles this summer.

Sunwork is adding Fort Lauderdale-Toronto service this simmer.

Allegiant is adding twice a week Las Vegas-Sanford nonstop service in May. This is very exciting as its the first transcontinental route from Central Florida that’s not from Orlando International. Melbourne nor Dayton Beach have a transcontinental nonstop, nor did Sanford until this week.
