JetBlue, the largest airline at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and the second largest at Orlando International Airport will place its B6 code on several Silver Airways flights within Florida beginning at the end of March. Not included in this codeshare are flights between Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale as well as flights between Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas where the airlines compete.
New York-based JetBlue will also begin nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to Baltimore in November, adding yet another airline option to one of the most trafficked routes from Florida to the Northeast. In 2013, 500,000 passengers traveled between the two airports making Fort Lauderdale the third largest destination from Baltimore. With the addition of JetBlue’s two daily nonstops there will be 14 flights on this route, compared with just three between Miami and Baltimore and two between West Palm Beach and Baltimore.
