TFS Endorsements – Palm Beach and Broward Local Elections

Palm Beach School Board
District 3- Karen Brill
She has served with distinction and has earned another term.
District 4 – Erica Whitfield
Whitfield promises to be a strong progressive voice as a parent in PBC Public Schools.
Broward County Commission
District 2- Lisa Kohner Aronson
She has spent 30 years as a leader in the local community and has steered the city of Coconut Creek positively. Aronson has earned the right to serve in this particular district unlike her strongest opponents both of whom have resided elsewhere until recently.
NOTE: We do not know if these election results will be valid due to an administrative snafu on the part of Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes. This race may appear on the November ballot as well.

District 6- Beam Furr
An accomplished local leader who will compensate for Kristin Jacobs absence on the Board of County Commissioners by putting environmental considerations on the table.
Broward School Board
District 4- Bob Mayersohn
A thoughtful advocate for children he takes on an incumbent in Abby Freedman whose conduct on the school board has smacked elitism and condescension. Mayerson is the easy choice in this race.
District 6- Lori Rich Levinson
An effective School Board Member and child advocate, she has earned another term.
District 7- Nora Rupert
A voice of reason on an often divided Broward School Board, Rupert’s best traits are that she questions conventional wisdom, listens to constituents and speaks out on tough issues.
We will have more endorsements later this week.

Bob Mayersohn is running against an incumbent woman. Wrong.

  2. Nice cheap shot at Brenda Snipes. Really uncalled for.

  3. No endorsement for Broward School Board District 1? It seems that going with the candidate who doesn’t make a habit of using the N-word in public is a no-brainer.

Her opponent works for virtual school and obviously will not be a public school advocate. It’s going to be the lesser of two evils in this race.
