A Judgeship in Broward County Court Group 15 is open.
Michael Ahearn is a cancer survivor as well as currently coping with kidney disease. A veteran attorney who has served in just about every area of law imaginable and done much as a pro bono attorney, he currently focuses on probate and guardianship. He’s been involved locally in community activities and causes that have been on the progressive side of the ledger. Ahearn has also advised several local public officials and served in legal capacities related to public service in Broward County.
We endorse his candidacy for County Court judge and join several public officials on both sides of the political aisle in doing so.
He is the Past President of Emerald Society and Brian Piccolo Chapter of College Football Hall of Fame where we gave scholarships to local high schoolers.
One of his opponents, Chris M. Brown has been endorsed by Florida Family Action and local GOPers.
Boosted by recent judicial victories, conservative groups have become even more aggressive this cycle not only in pushing state and federal judges, but local ones as well. This race is one of those, and it’s important local Broward voters do not fall into the trap. County Court is “the people’s court,” so to speak and we cannot afford to see more political ideologues sit on the bench.
Thank you
