TFS+ – A walking tour of a Pelican Island NWR trail

Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge is the nation’s original National Wildlife Refuge. It was designated in 1903 by President Theodore Roosevelt to help protect Egrets and other birds being hunted to obtain feathers for stylish hats.

The refugee is located in Indian River County just south of Sebastian Inlet.
