This week’s Florida commercial aviation news

Frontier will cut in February, nonstop service to five cities from Miami – Albany, Buffalo, Portland (ME), Newburgh/Hudson Valley and Rochester, NY. As we reported last week, all five cities will be served from Fort Lauderdale on the carrier beginning in February. So this is a shift of flights from one airport to another.

Allegiant will add St Petersburg/Clearwater-Clarksburg, WV and Fort Lauderdale-Appleton, WI nonstop service in the spring.

Alaska will resume Fort Lauderdale-Los Angeles/San Diego/San Francisco nonstops in Fall 2022. These FLL to California flights we reported a few weeks ago were being permanently cut. They are not as it turns out, but are being shifted from year-round to fall/winter seasonal.

SAS nonstop service from Miami to Copenhagen and Stockholm will return in the spring.
