Allegiant adding more Florida flights this winter

Low-cost carrier Allegiant Airlines is adding more Florida service this winter to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Punta Gorda, Sarasota/Bradenton and West Palm Beach. Meanwhile Allegiant continues to grow its footprint in Sanford and St Peterrburg, two airports the carrier dominates.

Additionally, sources tell me Allegiant is seriously exploring opening service to Miami, much like like fellow low-cost carriers Spirit, Southwest and JetBlue have in the past year. If Allegiant opens Miami service, continued plans for expansion in Fort Lauderdale (which is a base for the airline) and West Palm Beach will not be impacted I am told.
