Note: This is a personal announcement which also concerns some our most-dedicated patrons at TFS.
Himmarshee Football Club has announced a change on its Board of Directors following the resignation of VP David Fleischer.
A Board Member since the founding of the club, and preceding that an active member of supporters group Flight 19 leadership, Fleischer has stepped aside for the betterment of the club, to allow someone who can dedicate more time to take on the position.
His replacement will be TFS Editor-in-Chief Kartik Krishnaiyer. Per the HFC bylaws, the remaining four Board Members have unanimously approved and appointed Kartik to the post through the remainder of the 2018/19 term, and the position will again stand for election at the March 2019 Annual General Meeting.
Krishnaiyer has a background well-versed in both south Florida and the broader US soccer scenes – covering the game for various media outlets, calling the action on Fort Lauderdale Strikers game broadcasts, and serving as Communications Director for the North American Soccer League from 2009-2013.
“I want to thank David for his contributions and support during the earliest formative stages of Himmarshee FC up through today, as well as all the time and energy put in over the years as a supporter, dating back to our time supporting the Strikers” said HFC president Derek Reese. “I know we can count on his continued support as HFC looks towards the future. And from personally working in/supporting soccer in south Florida with Kartik for over a decade now, I’m confident that he’ll do a great job, and his experience and expertise will be a big positive for the club.”
HFC is back in action this Sunday, December 2 at 4PM as we move FGCL league action a few miles north to Mullins Park in Coral Springs. We hope to see you there!
In addition, HFC is currently running our #SupporterRun Virtual 5K fundraiser, and we encourage you to participate as we raise funds for the club as well as Kids in Distress. Supporters can register now at HimmarsheeFC.org/SupporterRun.
