Broward County, the Democrats Ticking Time Bomb

If you are a Democrat in Florida, there is one thing that is certain each election cycle; Broward County is your anchor. No need to spend money in Broward because it will take care of itself.

But in 2022, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist dipped below 60%, deviating from the norm. To put it in perspective, Andrew Gillum won 68.0% in Broward County, while Crist only won 57.3% four years later.

While Democrats are sweating about Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties (and rightfully so), Broward County, if lost, will make Florida one of the strongest Republican states in the nation, surpassing Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, and hell, possibly Utah. That’s how bad the situation is in Broward County.

Of course, everyone can see that Democrats are losing support in Broward County. However, nobody is asking “why” that support is being lost. As with many other things in Florida Democratic politics, lacking any understanding of the current state of affairs seems to be the driving force behind the decline.
