Can Democrats win Florida’s 6th Congressional District?

Probably not, but never say never…

A lot of heads were turned a few days ago when a poll out of Florida showed that Florida’s 6th Congressional District was within the margin of error. A poll conductedby St. Pete Polls showed that Democrat Josh Weil trailed Republican Randy Fine by only 4%. Fine led the poll with 48% of the vote to Weil’s 44%. Interesting, of those who said that they already voted, Weil was winning 51% to 43%. This would indicate that almost every non-party affiliated voter is voting for the Democrat over the Republican. This is unlikely, but anything is possible in a special election.

However, we are going to look at the numbers, as well as the Voting Trend nowcast model of early votes and vote-by-mail votes, just like we did during the 2024 election. And so far, the Democrats look much better than they did a few months ago.
