Breeze service increases and Alaska adds new Orlando services – and other Florida airline news

  • Breeze Airways continues to make a big push in Florida with increased service from Fort Myers, Vero Beach, Orlando and Tampa this winter. This includes new service to Portsmouth NH from both Orlando and Tampa.
  • Delta Airlines is beginning winter seasonal, sub-daily Orlando-London Heathrow flights which will compliment the year-round daily flights on partner Virgin Atlantic.
  • Alaska Airlines is beginning winter seasonal nonstops from Orlando to Boise and Sacramento.
  • Porter Airlines is beginning service to West Palm Beach with a Toronto nonstop this winter. The airline will also add Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers to Montreal nonstops. The Canadian carrier will also begin seasonal Tampa and Orlando to Halifax nonstops.
  • Avelo is permanently cutting Orlando to Binghamton/Dubuque/Kalamazoo/Lansing nonstops.
  • Spirit will resume Fort Lauderdale to Bucamangara (Colombia) service this summer.
  • American is resuming services from New York LaGuardia to Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
  • Allegiant is adding eight new nonstop pairs to Florida: Palm Beach to Grand Rapids, Sarasota/Bradenton to Portsmouth NH, Destin/Fort Walton Beach to Flint, Melbourne to Cincinnati, St Pete/Clearwater to Savannah, Punta Gorda to Savannah and finally Fort Lauderdale to both Savannah and Newburgh NY, the later being a route long flown by but recently permanently dropped by JetBlue.
