Per multiple published reports, Broward County officials are working on FINALLY moving forward with a long contemplated light rail system to connect Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Port Everglades. The system will also connect to the soon-to-be-built people mover within FLL and potentially, in time to a longer rail line heading west toward Sawgrass Mills along I-595. These connections would take place at a soon-to-be-built intermodal center. Brightline may also add a stop at the center.
