The biggest surprise is that this did not happen right after the election. Newscorp and Fox News have a tricky balancing act for the “fair and balanced” network. The question is whether to placate the Republican establishment typified by Karl Rove and others on the network or to play ball with the Tea Party. I sense a desire to placate the GOP establishment probably prevented this from happening soon.
