Podcast: The Seminole Wars

In this week’s edition of The Florida History Podcast presented by The Florida Squeeze we discuss the era of the Seminole Wars which spanned from 1816 to 1858. We delve into the Florida exploits of future Presidents Andrew Jackson and Zachary Taylor in leading the US forces as well as the heroic defenses the Native Americans put up to remain in Florida.

The era of the Seminole Wars saw the Native Americans that resided in Florida’s Panhandle eventually driven down to the Everglades and Big Cypress Swamp, while others were forcibly relocated to Oklahoma.
