Senator Marco Rubio couldn’t take the light mood of the initial minutes of the FOX News Google debate set by the moderators and front runner (at least on stage) Senate Ted Cruz. The one-term Senator who has not bothered to actually serve his state during much of that time went right for the jugular implying President Obama wasn’t American enough to be President and that he has systematically weakened America and tried to make the United States appear like the rest of the world. Rubio’s world view is that of American unilateral action making the world safer. That’s why the Iraq War ushered in an era of peace and prosperity, correct?

Whether Rubio has his own insecurities about being a minority in the GOP and feels attacking the first African-American President’s patriotism time and again is an effective defense mechanism, it is unbecoming of any man who has been in public office now for over 15 years to show such flagrant disrespect for the Commander-in-Chief.

In contrast, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, John Kasich, Jeb Bush and Ben Carson all gave less-personality-based and more issue-oriented answers to the opening round of questions. Do people who are objective really still think Marco Rubio is a serious policy person or will they finally come around to the view that he is a bitter, not-ready-for-primetime young man who had delusions of grandeur and a great deal of professionally jealousy toward the current President?
