Fantastic post! I believe Dems failure to address bread and butter economic issues has been largely responsible for our losses. Republican lites on economics have killed us.

The reason I left the Democratic Party was because of the lack of addressing economic issues. I highly doubt that Christ is going to advocate economic policies I approve of, but democrats nowadays don’t even talk about economics. If the do, it is still DLC talk.

Kartik, Time to request a debate between Charlie and Nan. That is the only way the voters will have a fair chance to decide for themselves. You would make an excellent moderator. Let’s get this party started.

Whoever gave the thumbs down here can eat a moldy colostomy bag. Crist can’t debate a true democrat? No wonder he was a republican spokesboy.

What makes people want to be Democrats are the social issues.
Economic issues prove to be losers. Ask Walter Mondale or Al Gore.
Focus on abortion, gay rights, civil rights, social justice.
Avoid guns.

Economic issues are important. The country prospers under Democrats and resides under The GOP.

i agree until the last line. I think we need to take a stand for gun safety.

Look at ANES data and you might find that you are absolutely incorrect, especially for Democratic voters.

Let me get this straight, you’re saying Democrats don’t have a message, so our party’s only hope is to turn to the man who isn’t consistent on anything and has switched parties twice in three years? And we should do this because he’s got a good personality and knows how to glad-hand at campaign rallies?
BTW, it’s hard for Democrats to have any positive message when the party power brokers are backing a candidate who served as governor during the economic crash and has been on the opposite side of almost every issue of concern to Democrats.
No, thanks. I’ll support the real Democrat who has always been true to our party’s values and has fought for the interests of the people during entire career. Vote Nan Rich in 2014.

Well put, Susan. Sorry, Kartik, but I’m totally over supporting people that require me to hope for change. I will support the person who has demonstrated a strong, substantial and CONSISTENT record of voting, and speaking out for, core Democratic principles. Nan Rich in 2014!

Well, your friends are the reason those power brokers are in there.

Dave Trotter, you never did figure out who the Crist supporter was in that race, did you?

Touche Susan. You are right. I think that had more to do with Barry Edwards than Alan though. Still, it looks like the entire FDP is fucked.

As a NPA voter, who votes in every election and leans democrat,if Crist gets the nod, I’m voting Wylie. Give Nan a fair shake or Scott’s victory is your fault. Honestly, in a Rick Crist vs. Charlie Scot race, third party may be the only option for most voters. So keep plugging Crist, and bring down two party politics in Florida!
